마가복음 12:28-40

28 율법학자 가운데 한 사람이 다가와서 논쟁하는 것을 들었습니다. 예수님께서 사두개파 사람들에게 잘 대답하시는 것을 보고, 그가 물었습니다. “모든 계명 중에 어떤 것이 가장 중요합니까?”
29 예수님께서 대답하셨습니다. “가장 중요한 계명은 이것이다. ‘이스라엘아, 들어라! 주 우리 하나님은 한 분이시다.
30 네 모든 마음과 모든 영혼과 모든 뜻과 모든 힘을 다하여, 주 너희 하나님을 사랑하여라.’
31 두 번째로 중요한 계명은 이것이다. ‘네 이웃을 네 몸같이 사랑하여라.’ 이 계명들보다 더 중요한 계명은 없다.”
32 율법학자가 예수님께 말했습니다. “옳습니다, 선생님. 하나님께서는 한 분이시고, 그 외에는 다른 신이 없습니다.
33 모든 마음과 모든 지식과 모든 힘을 다하여 하나님을 사랑하고, 이웃을 자기 자신처럼 사랑하는 것이, 다른 모든 번제물이나 희생 제물보다 더 중요합니다.”
34 예수님께서는 이 사람이 지혜롭게 대답하는 것을 보시고 말씀하셨습니다. “너는 하나님 나라에 가깝구나.” 그 뒤로는 아무도 감히 예수님께 더 묻지 않았습니다.
35 예수님께서 성전에서 가르치고 계실 때, 이렇게 물으셨습니다. “어째서 율법학자들은 그리스도가 다윗의 자손이라고 말하느냐?
36 다윗 자신은 성령으로 이렇게 말하였다. ‘여호와께서 내 주님에게 말씀하셨다. 내가 네 원수들을 네 발 아래 굴복시킬 때까지, 내 오른쪽에 앉아 있어라.’
37 다윗 자신도 그리스도를 주님이라고 부른다. 그런데 어떻게 그리스도가 다윗의 자손이 되겠느냐?” 많은 무리가 예수님의 말씀을 기쁘게 들었습니다.
38 예수님께서 가르치시면서 말씀하셨습니다. “율법학자들을 주의하여라. 이들은 긴 옷을 입고 걸어다니기를 좋아하고, 장터에서 인사받기를 좋아한다.
39 이들은 회당에서 높은 자리를 좋아하고, 잔치에서도 윗자리를 좋아한다.
40 이들은 과부의 집을 삼키며, 사람들에게 보이기 위해 길게 기도한다. 이런 사람들은 더 큰 심판을 받을 것이다.”

28 One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
29 Jesus replied, "The most important commandment is this： `Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD.
30 And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.'① / ①Deut 6.4-5
The most important commandment is this
31 The second is equally important： `Love your neighbor as yourself.'① No other commandment is greater than these." / ①Lev 19.18
32 The teacher of religious law replied, "Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth by saying that there is only one God and no other.
33 And I know it is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law."
34 Realizing how much the man understood, Jesus said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God." And after that, no one dared to ask him any more questions.
35 Later, as Jesus was teaching the people in the Temple, he asked, "Why do the teachers of religious law claim that the Messiah is the son of David?
36 For David himself, speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said, `The LORD said to my Lord, Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies beneath your feet.'① / ①Ps 110.1
37 Since David himself called the Messiah `my Lord,' how can the Messiah be his son?" The large crowd listened to him with great delight.
38 Jesus also taught： "Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they like to parade around in flowing robes and receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces.
39 And how they love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the head table at banquets.
40 Yet they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and then pretend to be pious by making long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be more severely punished."
